Love Story deconstructed
Love Story, produced by Ryan Murphy, is a new TV series that has recently been released that tells the messy love saga of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr. Starring Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette and Paul Anthony Kelly as JFK Jr., the casting has hit the nail on the head, with the actors bearing a striking resemblance to the real-life couple.
With only nine episodes of the series released and a new instalment every Friday, this story is a true testament to one of America’s most public love stories - a relationship that inspired a generation.
Carolyn Bessette alone still has a powerful influence on the fashion we see today. The casual chic, elevated minimalism that so many brands continue to orchestrate. And as fashion always does, we are seeing a full-circle moment back to the 90s - not the grunge, hipster styles we have previously seen, but blended couture prioritising comfort and the “less is more” trend.
This is the beginning of a love revival. Love Story touches on the depth behind “true love,” the chaotic realness of a relationship - which feels like the opposite of the trend we have recently seen this year, that having a boyfriend is embarrassing. After a year where the narrative has suggested that romance is something to downplay, this feels like a return to genuine connection.
Let’s bring back minimalism in style and in relationships. If Carolyn taught us anything, it’s that simplicity speaks the loudest.

Uncertainty Is Where The Most Pivotal Moments Form...
I was recently doom scrolling through Substack and came across a quote that caught my attention: “If your peace depends on everything going right around you, it’s not peace, it’s control.”
“Learn to be steady in uncertainty, that’s real growth.”
The trick isn’t to eliminate uncertainty - it’s about being able to sit in the uncomfortable. To feel the discomfort and not panic. To notice what’s truly yours and let go of what isn’t. Because only then does life stop feeling like a storm we need to just get through, and start feeling like a wave we can move with.
It doesn’t mean you stop caring or stop planning. It just means you stop letting the unknown rob you of your calm. You can still take action, make choices, chase dreams, but without attaching your peace to the outcome. When we detach the fragility of our peace from the disruption of our environment, we find true freedom.
And the more I sit with it, the more I realise: the moments that once shook me, the ones I thought would break me, are exactly the moments that built me. They didn’t feel good at the time. But looking back, they were the most pivotal.
Learning to be secure in uncertainty isn’t a one-time lesson. It’s a practice. A daily reminder that you can survive, adapt, and even thrive when the world doesn’t quite go to plan.
Remember to take a breath, sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s happening regardless. You just get to decide the energy you bring to it.
